Week 14: Final Theme Park

Theme Park featuring choose your own adventures with the aid of augmented reality

People enter the park and are given 2 things, an electronic device similar to a phone/tablet and holographic glasses. All devices are precharged and have a long battery life (24+ hours). These must be returned in order to exit the park. There is no escape otherwise, either return the tablet or pay a loss/damage fee.

Theme park has 3 basic "build your own adventures" genres including: Space, Mystery, and Fantasy

Each genre area will have at the very least one amusement ride, live performance or show, a passive play location, and a themed food stand or restaurant.

Space land will be primarily focused on space exploration. It will include two ride, a high speed thrilling spaceship roller coaster and a laser tag battle arena. The live show of this area would be an intergalactic county hunter chase scene where an actor will come out to actively seek escaped alien convicts. People can participate via tablet to help track down the aliens with the bounty hunter by finding random clues shown though the AR glasses. As a passive play area where people can chill rather than be active I'd like there to be an AR interactive planetarium. Similar to what we did in our class field trip kids will be able to draw on their tablets and project there own custom world onto a holographic diagram while still being educated on space. Food options would consist of snack carts offering quick appetite fixes as well as a space headquarter food court offering a variety of fast foods.

Mystery land will revolve around the paranormal and curiosity. The rides here are an omnimover which takes people from a graveyard scene into an immersive AR underworld which carries a fun  light hearted style similar to Dia de los Muertos and The Corpse Bride. The second main ride would be an mansion escape room game that pushes players to use the AR system in order to escape and navigate throughout the manor. Players will be set in one room which changes through the AR glasses in order to give the illusion of changing locations. Live shows here would consist of Spy Missions being conducted by the cast throughout the area. As a passive play idea I think it be interesting to have a ghost busters like game where people can search and hunt for ghosts. They'll be visible via glasses and the player has to use the tablet in order to capture them. This could be set on a timer or point basis and the ranking changes on a giant board in the area. A detective diner would be the food service of this area, it would strongly resemble the Nighthawk Diner painting in terms of architecture and lighting.

Fantasy land will contain a lot of medieval and imaginary themes. The first ride provided will be the Princesses Drop Tower. People will make their way in line through the tower that holds the trapped princess at the top. During their wait people can play mini AR games in line that consist of maze puzzles in order to proceed up the tower to their destination. The second ride featured would be a more calm carousel with horses and other fantasy creatures such as unicorns, centaurs, giant wolves, or dragons. As for live shows there will be knights jousting at certain show times and a scheduled parade of fantasy creatures both AR and costumed. The passive play for this area would a a potion brewery where players can assist a witch making potions through their tablets. The food stand of this area would be the Dragon's Lair BBQ, people go into a cavern like environment and enjoy BBQ being fired and cooked by a large animatronic dragon.

During holiday seasons they change one of the adventure themes, horror for Halloween, snowy for Christmas, and beach for summer break. This would be held to a very similar manner as Halloween Horror Nights at Universal Studios or Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party at Disney World.
